12.13  A morning of e-frenzy.

A request to sample a Crim classic is declined – a terrible dance mix of Schizoid, essentially the vocal section dumped over an appallingly unimaginative hammer-handed drum box. Awful. No amount of licensing income can compensate for an act as sacrilegious as this. In principle, I support the work of others. So, this goes to intent. What is the intent here? Rapping over KC is fine with me, if I fell the rapper is doing this because they must; dance-tracking KC is fine with me, if I feel that whipcords can do nothing other than snap to Crim. That is, without being too precious, the work has an intrinsic necessity; and if it’s commerce, then it has to be clean commerce. This morning’s sample is crap.
